Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Truecrypt Howto

Just so I can save you some time: Truecrypt 7.0a doesn’t work out of the box with Lion.

To get it running follow these steps:

  1. Download & Install Truecrypt 7.0a for Mac
  2. Download & Install: http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg
  3. Reboot
  4. Use Truecrypt

    Hmmm, an unofficial build of fusecore? Or what? Can you tell us a little bit more about this package? As TrueCrypt users we are paranoid, after all.

    Cheers for the solution. People are coming up with fixes for Lion problems almost as fast as I can discover them. I barely even have time to yell at the computer.

    Thanks your tip fixed the problem in minutes! Having finally got Lion installed (only took 24hrs!) I was dismayed to find that Truecrypt had stopped working.

    TrueCrypt 7.1 brings full Mac OS X Lion support – MacFuse is no longer required.
